Zephaniah CBR Tweets

ZEP1-This Flood-like judgment is earned during Manasseh's evil reign(2Ki 21). God removes sinners if they don't remove their sin. #HarborCBR
#HarborCBR Zephaniah begins with City Bible Reading! Before you think this is just "same story, different version" as all the other prophets, realize that Judah got a king-Josiah-who led the whole nation back to God and brought in renewal that changed all of life for everyone (2Ki 22). As angry as God is in this 3 chapter book, it's proof that if we return to God with our whole heart, He is quick to forgive.

ZEP2-God will judge Judah and their enemies. The only hope: turn back to God before it's too late. #HarborCBR
ZEP3-God will renew by removing the rebellious, leaving a community of people who are humble, seek God, and live to serve others. #HarborCBR ZEP3,2-This comes true during Josiah's reign (2Ki22-23). He discovers the Bible, puts it into practice, and the nation is renewed. #HarborCBR
ZEP3,3-Josiah's renewal pictures the more glorious renewal that Jesus brings when He comes and comes again! #HarborCBR

#HarborCBR Habakkuk begins today in City Bible Reading! Could God be using ISIS to judge the US for our idolatry: worshiping money, stuff, sex, feelings, our own autonomy? Surely God would never judge us with a nation worse than us! Read the 3-chapter Habakkuk with me to find out!

HAB1-Why are things falling apart? God: "I'm using an enemy to judge you." But they're evil! You're too holy & just to use them! #HarborCBR 

HAB1,2-If God used ISIS & China to judge the US, we'd get Habakkuk's fight w/God. He'd use Evil to judge the formerly righteous? #HarborCBR
HAB2-Judgment comes for Israel & then Babylon. Only faith that God will lead thru judgment will keep God's people from despair. #HarborCBR
HAB3-Here's living by faith: No matter how bad it gets, when we can't see hope, we still rejoice because God will rescue & renew. #HarborCBR
HAB3,2-The worse things get, the greater our faith must be. Sometimes rejoicing takes great effort, but it makes us stronger! #HarborCBR
