May 25 - Breaking Negative Communication Patterns

Led by Kathryn de Bruin, Marriage & Family Therapist

All couples fall into negative communication patterns that put their relationships under stress. Unfortunately these patterns often spike at important moments, when they need one another the most. Securely attached couples are aware of these patterns and are able to repair quickly when the cycles come. Come and identify your negative pattern by learning about what you do, what you think and what you feel as it takes over. Identifying this pattern is the first step to taking mastery over it.

Col 3:12 - Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

Kathryn de Bruin is a Marriage and Family Therapist, business owner and trainer of therapists in South Africa and across the USA.  She has a full time private practice in San Diego where she works with children and families.  Kathryn teaches at the University of California San Diego and at Bethel Seminary. Coming from South Africa and having lived in Europe before immigrating to the USA, she brings a sensitivity to working with clients of different ethnicities and countries and is equipped to work in cross-cultural settings. With a heart for seeing Christians experience abundant freedom and healing, Kathryn has always sought to integrate the best of psychotherapy with her Christian faith.
