Ezekiel CBR Tweets

EZE46,2-All leadership is under God's authority & should reflect it. The prince is regulated to keep him from oppressing people. #HarborCBR

EZE46-God's regulations for offerings show that He wants an ongoing relationship with us! He wants us to know how to please Him. #HarborCBR

EZE45,2-Passover & Day of Atonement are reinstated! These feasts rehearse FREEDOM: Israel's birth & ongoing forgiveness! #HarborCBR

EZE45-God's return brings holiness to space in the city. It renews political leaders who serve the city and lead in honoring God. #HarborCBR

EZE44,2-v28 God is our inheritance and our possession! Without Him, nothing satisfies. With Him, we are satisfied with anything. #HarborCBR

EZE44-v10-11 No matter what you've done, God restores you to serve Him in a way that makes a difference in the world. #HarborCBR

EZE43,3-Today, God accepts us(v27) & fills us with His presence because of Jesus! Turn toward Him and experience Him today! #HarborCBR

EZE43,2-v9-12 God's glorious return to His people is conditioned upon His peoples' turning back to Him. We turn, He returns. #HarborCBR

EZE43-What God builds, God fills. God's presence(which left in 10:15ff) now returns to the rebuilt temple! He fills us too! #HarborCBR

EZE42,2-v13 3/5 of Leviticus' offerings. Burnt & Peace aren't listed because burnt had no leftovers & peace was shared w/offerer. #HarborCBR

EZE42-The temple separates between holy & common. With Jesus, holiness explodes the walls of the temple to fill all of life! #HarborCBR

EZE41-Cherubim are angels, showing that the temple is where heaven&earth come together. With the Holy Spirit, WE are the temple. #HarborCBR

EZE40-Even in judgment God promises restoration & His presence. This begins a vision for a rebuilt temple. #HarborCBR http://t.co/xwV6Z4WGYe

EZE40,2-God's power makes us better than before. Ezekiel's future temple is even better than Solomon's. #HarborCBR http://t.co/EV7S5uqbAP

EZE39,2-Gog must be Babylon, simply because they were chosen by God to judge Judah and then subsequently were to be judged. #HarborCBR

EZE39-This is Habakkuk's message. God uses nations to judge nations. If the nations He uses are evil, they too will be judged. #HarborCBR

EZE38-Judgment comes by an enemy nation that will be judged next. God warns first, so that all will know that He's in control. #HarborCBR

EZE37,4-One of the joys of reading the Old Testament is seeing God's promises brought into reality for us thru Jesus! #HarborCBR

EZE37,3-God will restore Israel from Babylon & UNITE north & south: 1 nation. His own bonds of family love will accomplish this. #HarborCBR

EZE37,2-This is the same message as Ch36. Where we are dead, God breathes new life. He unites us to Himself & all His people. #HarborCBR

EZE37-What can God do for you? Raise you from a dead existence! Put His Spirit in you! Unite you in community! Grant you peace! #HarborCBR

I'm a sucker for free books. The #LogosBackToSchool sale! from @Logos & @Fortresspress https://t.co/LN8F2pQb7q

EZE36,4-The water and spirit of v25-27 is exactly what Jesus is talking about in John 3:5. Baptism is by pouring/sprinkling. #HarborCBR

EZE36,3-Why does God rescue & renew? So that we'd all see what He is like. His name is crucial because He puts His name ON US! #HarborCBR

EZE36,2-Mt Seir judged in Ch35, now Israel's mountains (formerly used for evil) will be renewed like the garden of Eden! #HarborCBR

EZE36-God rescues, comes near, forgives, renews hearts, gives power, provides extravagantly, gives us lives that matter! #HarborCBR

EZE35-Mt Seir is Edom, Esau's descendants, enemies of God. They revile God's people being judged, so they are next. #HarborCBR

EZE34,3-This chapter (and others like Ps 23) are behind Jesus' words in John 10. He is God coming to shepherd His people. #HarborCBR

EZE34,2-Ever feel like God doesn't care about your problems? 36 times in one chapter God says,"I will seek, I will rescue..." #HarborCBR

EZE34-Radical indictment of abusive/self-serving leaders AND God's commitment to sacrificially lead us Himself. Jesus = Shepherd #HarborCBR

EZE33,2-v12-16 This language might upset some who are gospel-centered. It shows that what matters is your present, not your past. #HarborCBR

EZE33-God calls people to share His message: He doesn't delight in judging. He delights in not judging people who return to Him. #HarborCBR

EZE32,4-v7-8 Darkness recalls the 9th plague (Ex 10). The heavens picture what's happening on earth. #HarborCBR

EZE32,3-v7-8 Celestial bodies were created to "rule"(Genesis 1:16-18). This is why earthly rulers are compared to them. #HarborCBR

EZE32,2-v2 AGAIN Pharaoh is "dragon in the seas"(29:3). This explains Revelation 12 (dragon) and possibly Job 41 (Leviathan)! #HarborCBR

EZE32-Because we can't hear this enough, God again laments Pharoah and Egypt. Does your judgment come thru tears? God's does. #HarborCBR

EZE31-God speaks to Pharaoh in a way he can understand: Assyria was destroyed for its arrogance. Don't be like them. #HarborCBR

EZE30-AGAIN after predicting judgment God inspires LAMENT for the judged. God has no delight in judgment. Neither should we. #HarborCBR

EZE29,4-Maybe Job is some kind of parable/allegory of Israel's stay in Egypt, his friends are opinions on why they are enslaved. #HarborCBR

EZE29,3-Egypt as great dragon could also illuminate Revelation 12. That would enhance the new exodus theme in Revelation. #HarborCBR

EZE29,2-v3 Egypt is the great dragon. This could illuminate Job 41. Could Job have been written during Israel's slavery in Egypt? #HarborCBR

EZE29-What brings God's judgment? Arrogance in your own accomplishments and betraying God's people. #HarborCBR

EZE28,2-Is this the fall of Satan? Maybe. But surely it's the fall of Tyre in poetic exaggeration, from blessing David/Solomon. #HarborCBR

EZE28-How God judges: He announces judgment AND laments the judgment. Let this heart be ours if we must share God's displeasure. #HarborCBR

EZE27-You'd think Tyre's destruction would produce cheering, but God laments its destruction. No joy in judging God's enemies. #HarborCBR

EZE26-Tyre arrogantly rejoices over the demise of God's people, but God opposes the arrogant. Tyre's demise is also coming. #HarborCBR

EZE25-Those who rejoice when God's people are judged will also be judged. Their attitude is the opposite of Ezekiel's (& God's). #HarborCBR

EZE24-As judgment falls on Jerusalem, God's prophet identifies w/the peoples' suffering. God's leaders & families also suffer. #HarborCBR

EZE23,2-I love v20 because it's the Bible saying things that people think the Bible doesn't say. Parts of the Bible aren't PG-13. #HarborCBR

EZE23-Another parable about how our sins affect God: It hurts Him personally. His judgment is designed to end evil. #HarborCBR

I don't know about this study Bible, but this 4 min video is a great intro on how to read the Bible. https://t.co/T5xczhbQ6h

EZE22-In chapters of judgment like this, I'm thankful Jesus reversing v30, bringing salvation to people who don't deserve it. #HarborCBR

EZE21,2-v2 clarifies Jesus in Luke 9:51. Jesus' caling Himself "Son of Man" is identifying His ministry with Ezekiel's. #HarborCBR

EZE21-See God's heart in proclaiming judgment. It's broken! Grief & groaning, not triumphalistic pride. Let us Imitate God. #HarborCBR

EZE20,2-Even when God gets fed up with us, He graciously leaves the door open for us to return. #HarborCBR

EZE20-Does God get fed up w/people? Yes. Reading this unfaithfulness I wonder, "What do I really want more than following Him?" #HarborCBR

EZE19-2 more parables displaying the lamenting heartbreak of God over the disintegration of Israel because of her unfaithfulness. #HarborCBR

EZE18,2-Here's an additional layer of the impact of nature/nurture/generational patterns. Rounds out God's heart in Exodus 20:5. #HarborCBR

EZE18-Even with all the hurt of our past (whether it's from others or it's our own doing) we can turn toward God and start fresh. #HarborCBR

EZE17,2-Parables are stories that interpret our lives theologically. When we see the meaning, we see we're already implicated. #HarborCBR

EZE17-When you need to be corrected, how do you like to be approached by someone who cares? How about when you're stubborn? #HarborCBR

EZE16-This'd be the greatest picture of God extravagant grace if it weren't the worst picture of Israel's radical unfaithfulness. #HarborCBR

Thought provoking article that will help you think more intelligently about movies: http://t.co/q2PfHlnNTr

Great article on church membership: As convicting for me as pastor as I hope it is for non-members of our church! http://t.co/UQedoUMjYv

EZE15-Uselessness is the end of the path that departs from God. My heart breaks for those who feel life is meaningless. #HarborCBR

EZE14,2-Great section on peoples' righteousness saving themselves & others. Clear foreshadow that Jesus' righteousness saves us! #HarborCBR

EZE14-v1-5 Idolatry isn't just statues! Many of us treasure things in our hearts more than God. These separate us from God. #HarborCBR

EZE13-Even in judgment, God is patient. God sees all that is evil and broken. He has plans to bring judgment and renewal. #HarborCBR

EZE13-Why was Israel so unfaithful? "Prophets" abounded. They claimed visions for prosperity, but were lying for personal gain. #HarborCBR

EZE12-The prophet suffers by enacting the judgment he predicts. This is God promoting unity & compassion, & foreshadowing Jesus. #HarborCBR

EZE11,2-v23 the biggest problem with our sin is that it drives God away from us. #HarborCBR

EZE11-When judgment comes, how should those who predicted it react? v13 answers: no gloating, but mourning. That's God's heart. #HarborCBR

EZE10,2-v18ff God's presence mounts His chariot and He begins to leave the temple. Exile means God's presence is not near. #HarborCBR

EZE10-The vision is a throne-chariot: God's has "gyroscopic" wheels moving in all directions & angels that make it fly. #HarborCBR

EZE9,3-Why do we do evil? v9-"The Lord has forsaken the land, & the Lord does not see." We leave Him, then think He doesn't care. #HarborCBR

EZE9,2-When a country is judged, is anyone safe? v4 shows the reaction that saves individuals from the nation's judgment. #HarborCBR

EZE9-Is God's judgment fair? He investigates so judgment is solely based on the evidence.of injustice & bloodshed in all forms. #HarborCBR

EZE8,3-Was v12 written today? “See what people do in the dark? Each in his room of pictures? They say, ‘God doesn't see us.' #HarborCBR

EZE8,2-Sometimes God's reaction to something is a better indication of how bad it is than our impression reading it. #HarborCBR

EZE8-God asked His people to be faithful to Him. They did everything but that. They completely betrayed the God who saved them. #HarborCBR

EZE7-The judgment&wrath of God comes upon those who disrupt&destroy the peace and harmony of God's world. #HarborCBR

EZE6,3-Idolatry today can be as overt as back then: Money, Sex, Power. Sometimes it's more subtle--control, approval, comfort. #HarborCBR

EZE6,2-v9 God Himself is broken over our decisions to worship things that destroy us. He is broken over our judgment. #HarborCBR

EZE6-Why does God judge the worship of other things? Is His jealousy self-serving? No, it serves us! #HarborCBR

"To the self-confident: We need your confidence to call us to greatness.

To the self-conscious: We need your introspection to keep us humble"

EZE5-Ezekiel is shamed/humiliated by being shaved BEFORE he announces the shame/humiliation of God's judgment on Jerusalem. #1w/U #HarborCBR

EZE5-When someone says you're wrong, doesn't it make a difference if they are willing to suffer with you? That's how God does it. #HarborCBR

This is life without truth coming in from outside us (the Bible). Discuss? https://t.co/64379JkuMX

EZE4,5-E's rations: 8oz food, 21oz water per day. Serious rationing. Ezekiel is again bearing the judgment he's announcing. #HarborCBR

EZE4,3-v3 "set your face" toward Jerusalem (in judgment) gives much clarity to Luke 9:51-56. #HarborCBR

EZE4,2-390+40=430years=Israel's time in Egypt(Ex12:40). This isn't literal prediction, but symbolic comparison: Babylon = Egypt. #HarborCBR

EZE4-Ezekiel builds a model &bodily lives out the destruction of north & south. He bears the judgment he announces (like Jesus!). #HarborCBR

EZE3-Sharing God's message means 1st internalizing it(eat). Bad news must come from those who care enough to be hurt by it. #HarborCBR

EZE2-See God's broken heart: sending someone, suspecting he'll/He'll be rejected. God knows disappointment & still reaches out. #HarborCBR

EZE1,3-Creatures: angels described in metaphors(again in Rev 4). Wheels: gyroscope-like for mobility. It's God's throne-chariot. #HarborCBR

EZE1,2-If this revelation of God is confusing (creatures, wheels, expanse), there may be things of Him we don't know. #HarborCBR

EZE1-When we feel far from God (even when it's by our own doing), He comes near, speaking so we know He's not silent. #HarborCBR

Ezekiel starts with City Bible Reading! You can't tell people of God's judgment if you aren't willing. #HarborCBR
