#HarborCBR Numbers (3rd book of Bible) is called "in the desert" in the Hebrew Bible. A great title that connects when we feel like life is a desert!
Num1-in the desert, God numbers his people. He knows every one of us, and he prepares us to overcome the challenges ahead. #HarborCBR
Num2-in the desert, God lives and travels with his people. Whenever we struggle, wherever we struggle, He is with us. #HarborCBR
Num3-God is an organizational leader, giving his people direction and responsibility. It's what we also need in life's deserts. #HarborCBR
Num4-cont from ch3. In life's deserts, God is w/us in all his holiness. Without Jesus, God's holiness is not safe. #HarborCBR
Num5-Restitution (repay + 20%) makes grace 2-way in reconciliation. Plus, God protects women from jealous husbands. #HarborCBR
Num6-in the desert passion and devotion are holy. God deserves It and He blesses it with His approval. #HarborCBR
Num7-in the desert, God deserves worship and honor. He gives forgiveness & acceptance. AND God speaks to us! #HarborCBR
Num8-in the desert, God deserves first place. It's good news that He accepts a holy substitute to make atonement for our sins. #HarborCBR
Num9-in the desert, remember the Exodus! God has set you free from slavery! And he leads us every day by His word and Spirit. #HarborCBR
Num10--in the desert, the journey begins, and God is leading every step of the way. Look for Him, don't try to escape the desert. #HarborCBR
Num11--Don't complain! A desert lies between us and the Promised Land. God he will judge, and he will care for his leaders. #HarborCBR
Num11, 2--Complain! But do it right! If in rebellion, God will judge. If in devotion to God, God will meet your needs. #HarborCBR
Num12--Bad complaining, this time from leaders! Jealous ambition is fruitless, it will come to nothing but judgment. #HarborCBR
Num13-in the desert great faith looks not at the size of your trials, but the size of your God. We conquer thru Him who loved us. #HarborCBR
Num14-In the desert, doubt and fear kill faith, make us blind/forget the evidence of God. Thank Jesus for interceding as Moses! #HarborCBR
Num15--In the desert there's hope! Forgiveness & the promised land await those who love God. Defiant rejection brings judgment. #HarborCBR
Num16-in the desert, suffering tempts our worst. God judges rebellion, but in Jesus He took the plague and died to save rebels. #HarborCBR
Num17-In the desert, God defends and promotes His leaders. They display God's life-giving power and presence(2Tim 3:10). #HarborCBR
Num18-God defines his leaders' roles and provides for them through the tithes of his people. Leaders also lead in tithing. #HarborCBR
Num19-God provides rituals to reverse the defilement of death. Cleansing restores and foreshadows resurrection! #HarborCBR
Num20-Moses sins as the nation did (14:11)-he didn't believe in God or uphold Him as holy-so he suffers the same punishment. #HarborCBR
Num21-Complaining is deadly poison. As Moses lifted the serpent, so Jesus was lifted on the cross. All who look to him are healed! #HarborCBR
Num22-In the desert, God's people have enemies who want them dead. God protects them, even from a prophet who is open for bribes. #HarborCBR
Num22-In Jesus, we have no fear of enemies, for Jesus' resurrection is our sure victory. He defends us from curse and attack. #HarborCBR
Num23--In the desert, you can't curse those God blesses. God WITH His people + FOR his people = great confidence & boldness. #HarborCBR
Num24-in the desert, God's presence is a river that feeds us life. The desert is temporary! The Promised Land is coming! #HarborCBR
Num25-In the desert, God's authority is OVER those whom his grace is IN. He is equally, jealously passionate about BOTH. #HarborCBR
Num26-In the desert, God preserves his people. Israel is 1800 stronger after the 40yr judgment. God is faithful when we're not. #HarborCBR
Num27-In a world w/few rights for women, God commands for them inheritance and ownership of the land. Plus Joshua = future Moses. #HarborCBR
Num28-In the desert, God commands offerings to reflect how often he wants time with us: daily, weekly, monthly, yearly. #HarborCBR #Friends
Num29--Celebrate! The 2nd half of the year (July for us) begins celebrating forgiveness and God's presence with us--in the desert. #HarborCBR
Num30-God deserves our strong commitments & devotion. God also provides protection when our commitments bind others whom we love. #HarborCBR
Num31-Having judged His own people for their sins, God judges those who tempted them. Discipline and judgment deepen reverence. #HarborCBR
Num32-In the desert, fears from the past resurface. Confrontation brings renewed faith and return to God's mission. #HarborCBR
Num33-Recounting a 40 year journey through 43 places. Sometimes it's not until the end of the road that you see how God has led. #HarborCBR
Num34-In the desert, God defines our inheritance. Living in that inheritance then becomes our mission. #HarborCBR
Num35-God wants justice in the land, not revenge. Evil pollutes the land, justice atones for it. Refuge enables justice w/mercy. #HarborCBR
Num36-Life in the desert ends w/ assurance of inheriting the land. All God's laws are boundaries that keep us in His blessings. #HarborCBR
