Children ages 1-3.5 yrs old are dismissed after a scripture reading for the remainder of service. In the Treasured Tots class they READ-PLAY-PRAY. We use stories by Sally Lloyd Jones that are aimed at teaching kids who God is and what he is like. Our volunteers help to establish a sense of belonging by knowing the children by name, learning about them, and helping them to know they are loved both by the people at Harbor City and more importantly, by God.

Children 3.5 years-Kindergarten are dismissed after a scripture reading for the remainder of service. In Kingdom Kids children have a period of play, followed by a lesson and craft. Lessons are story based using the Jesus Storybook Bible. We also incorporate a monthly catechism question and memory verse.

Children in 1st-5th grade are invited to participate in corporate worship. We see this as an opportunity to disciple our children into loving the corporate act of worshiping God. We recognize this may be an unfamiliar experience for some families and offer tools and strategies to equip you for this.

During the school year, we offer 45-minute Sunday School classes following corporate worship for children in 1st–8th grade. In their age-appropriate classes, kids pray together, read and listen to Scripture, practice catechism questions, and engage in spiritual conversations. Our goal is to help children grow in biblical literacy, learn to talk with God, and begin to take ownership of their faith.

Throughout the school year, 6th–8th graders gather for Sunday School and are invited to serve both within the church and throughout the San Diego community. Led by parents, our middle schoolers gather around food to build friendships, followed by opportunities to serve others and express their faith as they trust and follow Jesus.
